Author Guidelines

Generalities

“Sadovodstvo i vinogradaestvo” ("Horticulture and viticulture") accepts for publication manuscripts in Russian and English on horticulture and viticulture in all directions (see sections of the journal). The Editor note that the publication of the article in English increases the number of views by foreign readers and increases its citation. The authors of the Russian-language article, after its adoption, may provide the editor with an English translation of the article for publication in the electronic version of the journal. Translation should be carried out with the help of highly qualified translators.

In connection with the adoption of the IV part of the civil code, a license agreement between the author and the Editor is mandatory. License agreement (must be completed and signed by all co-authors of the article), first sent to e-mail address of the Editorial office (nic@vstisp.org), then  to the Editorial office (115598, Moscow, St Zagoryevskaya, 4) by mail or courier in 2 copies. The contract form can be downloaded here.

Submitted manuscripts will be peer-reviewed (see review section). The decision on publication is made by the editorial Board of the journal on the basis of expert assessments of reviewers and scientific editor taking into account the compliance of the submitted materials with the thematic focus of the journal, their scientific significance and relevance.

Requirements

Articles should be prepared in accordance with the following requirements.

The volume of the article is up to 15 pages in A4 format, page numbering is through. This volume includes abstract, text, tables, illustrations and signatures, a list of references. The main text is typed in Times New Roman font in 1.5 intervals with the alignment in width and without hyphens, font size 12 pt. Fields are 2.5 cm from all sides of the page. Articles of a larger volume are accepted only after preliminary coordination with the Editorial board.

Latin names of objects of research in the title of the article and in the text are written in compliance with the generally accepted rules of taxonomic nomenclature: binary species – italics (Ríbes nígrum), taxa of higher rank – in direct font (Ríbes). At the first mention in the text generic and specific names are given without abbreviations, hereinafter referred to as the generic name in one capital (first) letter, and the specific is indicated in full (R. nígrum).

Names and symbols of genes are typed in italics, and the names of their products – in capital letters in direct font. For example: genes fos, c-myc, ATM; proteins Fos, c-Myc, ATM. Names of phages and viruses are written in Latin transcription in direct font (RBDV, ArMV).

It is necessary to use generally accepted abbreviations and acronyms or to give additional information in the text of the article. All physical dimensions are recommended to be given in the International system (SI).

Mathematical formulas and equations are typed in MS WinWord (version 6.0 and higher) or MathType editors. Equations are arranged in the center of the line and numbered in Arabic numerals in parentheses in the order they are mentioned in the text. Equation numbers are aligned to the right edge of the line. The equations are separated from the text at the top and bottom by a single empty line. When you write multiple equations, they are also separated by an empty string.

Tables and illustrations (graphs, diagrams, photos, line drawings) are presented in color and black-and-white versions as separate files in TIFF or JPG format with a resolution of at least 300 pixels/ inch (scans and photocopies are not accepted).

Tables, illustrations and their captions are placed in the text of the article at the first mention. You should not use the "text wrap" option.

Tables are provided with thematic headings (in Russian and English) and numbered in Arabic numerals in the order they are mentioned in the text. All columns in tables should have headings. Abbreviations of words in tables are not allowed. All abbreviations should be deciphered in footnotes to the table (in Russian and English).

The number of illustrations in the article should not exceed 6 (exceptions are agreed with the editorial Board).

On the charts, you must specify the values, which are given on the axes, and the designation of their dimensions.

The details in the diagrams are indicated by Arabic numerals or Latin letters and are decoded in the signatures. Inscriptions in the figure and figure captions should be presented in two languages – Russian and English.

Illustrations are numbered in the order they are mentioned in the text. When referring to an illustration in the text, its number and the alphabetic and numerical symbols of its details are indicated, for example: Fig. 1 a.

Charts and diagrams should be made using vector programs (Microsoft Excel, CorelDraw not higher than 13 version, Microsoft PowerPoint), they should be sent as separate files with saving formats used to create them.

The composition of the manuscript

Materials should be placed as follows:

1. UDC.

2. Title of the article (in Russian and English). It should be brief and reflect the content of the work. It is printed in capital letters in direct bold without underlining. Latin names of objects of research in the title of the article are written without abbreviations, in compliance with the generally accepted rules of taxonomic nomenclature.

3. Initials and surname (surnames) of the author(s) (A. A. Ivanov, B. V. Petrov...), position, academic degree, title (for those who have them) (in Russian and English).

4. The full official name and address of the institution where the author(s) works (in straight line); the author(s) e-mail address(s) (in straight line).

Note in Arabic numerals the correspondence of the authors ' names to the institutions in which they work.

5. ORCID (if available, for more information and registration see link https://www.ru-science.com/en/blog/publikaciya-scopus/chto-takoe-orcid-id)

6. Abstract (summary) of the article in Russian and English with a brief summary of the main goal of the work, the approaches used, the results obtained and the main conclusions (at least 250 words). When preparing an abstract in English, the authors should use the services of a professional interpreter. For English-language articles, the abstract is made in Russian. Font is a straight line.

7. Keywords (not more than 10). Font is a straight line. Key words should reflect: (1) the object; (2) the method; (3) area of research; (4) the specifics of this work.

8. Acknowledgments (if necessary, this section provides information on financial support for the work carried out under the program, the project).

9. Text of article.

The following sections are recommended for experimental articles: Introduction; Materials and Methods; Results; Discussion; Bibliographic references.

Theoretical, review and problem papers may have an arbitrary structure, but must contain a summary. The titles of the sections in such articles are determined by the author.

Bibliographic references inside the text are given in square brackets.

10. The list of references (in Russian) should contain a bibliographic description of all literary sources, references to which appear in the text of the article, and is compiled in order of their mention in the text. For all cited articles that have doi (this index, which always begins with the abbreviation "doi", can be found on the first page of a pdf article, or on the journal website when viewing the article summary, or in databases where the article is refereed), it is necessary to specify this index at the very end of the link.

At the end of the article should be reported the name of the author, responsible for communication with the editor, as well as his contact phone number and email address.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. This article has not been previously published, nor has it been submitted for review and publication in another journal (or explained in the editor's Comments).
  2. The file of the submitted article is presented in the format of a Microsoft Word document.
  3. The full Internet addresses (URLs) are given for links where possible.

  4. The text is typed with 1.5 line spacing; 12-point font size is used; italics are used for emphasis, not underscores (except Internet addresses); all illustrations, graphs and tables are located in the appropriate places in the text, not at the end of the document.
  5. The text corresponds to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements described in the Guidelines for authors, located on the page "About the journal".

  6. The abstract of the article in Russian, as well as the abstract in English (Summary), consists of at least 250 words. Do not start the abstract by repeating the title of the article! It is necessary to highlight the purpose of the study, methods, results with quantitative data, clearly formulate conclusions. Do not break down into paragraphs and use introductory words and phrases!

  7. I confirm that the manuscript has been prepared in accordance with the rules and norms of the Russian language in compliance with logical clarity and competent lexical and stylistic design, and the parts of the manuscript translated into English are designed according to the rules and norms of the English language, and they also comply with competent lexical and stylistic design.
  8. I realize that non-compliance with these requirements may be the basis for rejection of the manuscript without review.
