Abstract
The purpose of breeding of apple trees in the low mountains of Altai is the systematic improvement of the assortment of culture in Siberia. The main method of breeding was the geographically remote intersocross crossings and seed sowing from free pollination. Modern varieties are the third and fourth generation of Malus baccata. As a result of a purposeful long-term work on the breeding of apple trees by the staff of the Department of mountain horticulture of Lisavenko Research Institute of Horticulture of Siberia in Gorno-Altaisk 34 varieties of apple were created, 14 of which were included in the State register of breeding achievements and were allowed to use in the 10th region (Western Siberia). Since 2007, the assortment has qualitatively replenished with the varieties with the summer period of consumption of the fruits (Tolunay, Shushenskoe), with the autumn maturity of the fruits (Altynai, Bayan, Poklon Shukshinu, Surkhurai), with the winter term of consumption (Gorny Sinap). These varieties are adaptive to the severe conditions of the winter period of Siberia and have a high regenerative capacity after damage during critical winter periods, early ripening, high yielding, with regular fruit bearing, resistant to scab, with an average fruit mass from 56 to 97 g and maximum to 170 g.

Abstract
The estimation of grape varieties obtained from different regions have been carried out in conditions of foreststeppe of Altai Krai. Methods proposed by State Variety Testing Agency have been used. The collection includes 195 varieties both domestic and foreign origin. Within 20 years of investigation there were no damage of roots as well as annual and perennial sprouts. Up to 74.2 % of buds were died because of asphyxiation. Fourteen varieties have been selected for high winter hardiness. Bud breaking was observed at May 1-20. The mean period of fl owering was June 6-28, berries ripening was September 12-24. Leaf fall was not observed. The largest berries (3.9-9.5 g) and bunches (209-1500 g) were observed on 11-th varieties. Palatability of fresh berries was ranged from 3.5 to 9.8 points. Soluble solids in berries were ranged from 10.1 up to 23.8 %, sugar - 5.7-23.7 %, acidity - 0.3-2.3 %. The average yield was ranged from 2.7 to 8.0 kg/bush, up to maximum of 25.0 kg/bush. Signifi cant variation in productivity for most of varieties have been recorded (20.4-53.8 %). Statistically it was proved that the yield of grapes infl uenced by the factor the year is 41.7 % as well as by factor of variety origin is 30.0 %. Rest of factors have infl uence totally 28.3 %. Wasps were indicated as main pest. Resistance to mildew was shown by 132 varieties. Ripening of shoots was ranged from 26 to 93 %. As exception in 2013 at most of varieties shoots were ripened at low level (0-36.9 %). As a results of long period estimation it have been selected 31 varieties of grape distinguished by range of economically valuable features. Abstract
Winter hardiness and productivity estimation of 13 golden currant varieties and selected forms breeding in Lisavenko Research Institute of Horticulture of Siberia have been done in years 2011-2015. Evaluation of climate condition during years of investigation has been carried out. Level of climate infl uence on plants has been detected. It was established that all samples have suffi cient adaptability to extreme weather conditions of Altai. The overwintering of plants, including severe conditions in the autumn-winter period of 2012/13 was passed safely without freezing of branches and generative buds. Due to increased air temperatures in year 2014, the vegetation was started earlier compared to mean data. At the end of April, there was frost, that damaged part of the fl oral buds in the brush. As a result of estimation, some varieties like Levushka and Otrada as well as several hybrids resistant to freezing of fl ower buds by spring frosts have been selected. Flowering both of varieties and elite forms were abundant (4,0-5,0 points). The yield of estimated varieties was ranged from 2,0 up to 6,5 kg per bush (5,0-16,3 t/ha), weight of berries was from 0,6 to 3,8 g. The varieties Otrada, Levushka, Yubiley Altaya has been selected for high productivity (11,5; 10,8; 9,0 t/ha respectively). Some other varieties have been also selected for high productivity: 4197-06-1, 4189-06-9 3685-99-13 and 4190-06-13. Productivity of Ida and Otrada varieties as well as variety under selection 4190-06-4 is resistant regardless of weather conditions, the variation index is 3,4- 9,5%. The weight of berries depends on many factors, including climate conditions of the year. In years 2013 and 2014, the amount of precipitation during the vegetation period was higher compared to other years, that infl uenced in increasing of weight of berries up to 9,0-33,0 %.
